We're Getting Ready for the Snow!!!!

Hey! We're getting ready for the snow! They say in the Northeast we will have about 12-18" of snow in my neck of the woods. Let's see if they are right!! It's supposed to start tonight.
In the meantime, here's some ODD photos for your perusal. We got rid of some old cake and old bagels, so here's my son FLINGING it into the woods for the animals -- I am sure the little animals are looking for some 'stuff' these cold days. And yes, I know, who the hell goes out wearing shorts and a muscle-type shirt in cold weather in the Northeast in January???!! Yep, that's my son... 20 years old and insane... And, trust me, he wears shorts all winter.
(Can you tell I love him -- especially because of his craziness? But, hmmm, I always wonder whom he takes after???)
.

Now, for the photo below... This is one photo from our last snowstorm, and the snow wasn't really a lot, but this pic is from around 11PM at night, when my son got home... The red in the back, on the left, is from his brake lights coming in; and the lights on the right are his headlights. Interesting photo, no?

But I think our coming snowstorm will be WAY more than this, if the weather-guys are correct!! If we DO get a lot of snow, I will take a lot of photos and will do a post to show you!
Hey, I have food, and I have ingredients for cocktails for myself in the midst of a storm, so I am ALL SET!! I'm looking forward to being SNOWED IN!!! (As long as I don't lose any electricity/power!)
Best,
GLORIA

  2. It's 5:30 a.m. in my neck of the Canadian Woods and I'm just heading out to shovel. We got major snow last night! How kind of you to feed the critters. I do the same with all my leftover bread items. Good luck weathering your storm!

  4. Gloria! I am lauhging my head off at your comments about your DS! Me thinks he might take after this mom. ;-) You gotta love someone who can handle the cold in shorts and a muscle shirt. Must have Scottish blood! Only I think they toss cabers/cabres instead of rolls. LOL!

Very cute pics and a cute post. Girl, that is going to be some storm! You stay warm.

You won't believe what I did earlier. I had the plumber here, and he made an absolute mess in my shower, snaking out the drain. I mean a MESS. AND he only cleaned the floor outside the shower and not the floor of the shower. MEN! Had I known that, I would have not paid him. Anyhow, I go up and look at all of this icky stuff and think, I need to clorox that mess. So I get what I think is bleach from under the kitchen sink and la la la pour it all around in my shower. About a cup or more. Then suddenly, I am almost overcome by the smell. So I start frantically turning on the water, and it gets HOT and smells worse. And I get a big ole whiff of it in my lungs... which have been sick for a month. SO, I rush to turn on the vent and rush to the other bathroom to grab the garbage can to fill with COLD water. Back I run over and over and over again to douse the shower floor. FINALLY, I open the window in desperation which means I have to crawl over the sides of this mama jama tub. One won't open. Shucks. But the other did. YEA! Then, I run back about sixty more times to get water from the other bathroom (I'm holding my breath), and throw it on the floor of the shower. Finally, I can take a breath. Then I get out the Target cleaner and go to work to try to dissipate the other smell more. And on and on and on. The point being I survived, and I started thinking that maybe the amonia would clean out my lungs. You think???

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  7. You throw bagels into the woods and not add lox and cream cheese? What kind of New Yorker are you?

Didn't your son learn to wear a coat when it's cold out...else he'll catch his death of cold!

Glad you got the essentials for the winter storm...cocktails!

    CHEERS, Miss G!!!
