Pinterest!

Yes, I have to admit it: I am now addicted to Pinterest!

When I first heard of Pinterest on different blogs, I said, "Oh, that sounds silly." Yes, I really did. And now, I am a slave to it. When I get on there, I can easily be on for an hour or two, seriously. If my son is home and I am sitting on the couch, quietly, not bothering him, he will say: "Are you on that Pinterest thing again??!!"

It's so much fun though. There are pretty rooms to look at, funny posters that make me laugh, beautiful outside photos, lovely 'inspirational' quotes... Oh, and the FOOD! Great food photos and links to the recipes. It's kind-of like going shopping and "buying" all of these little photos for your boards! You can also post your OWN photos on there, which I have done too.

I love it so much and there are SO many pretty things that people "pin," such as photos like this one below...

UPDATE: The Pinterest owner of the above photo is: Originally pinned by Shelley Berendt onto Halloween. From maddycakesmuse.blogspot.com

Here's another example: Of the FUNNY things that you'll see on there. Isn't this hysterical??!UPDATE: The Pinterest owner of the above photo is: Originally pinned by SusieBru onto anne taintor or 'ish. From: theberry.com

Anyway, if you haven't joined yet, please do. You'll love it. And FOLLOW ME if you'd like to! My button is on my right-hand side bar.

And if you have joined already, let me know your favorite things to "pin!" Oh, and please tell me your link and I will follow you!

Best, Gloria

UPDATE: The Pinterest owner of the top photo/upper left is: Originally pinned by Anna Davis onto Quotes. (From: Original location not listed.)

  1. OH NO! Another thing to follow and get addicted to? I've been reading a lot about pinterest too, but haven't checked it out! It sounds tempting, but I already am spending so much time on the computer. I might have to see if I can sneak in and out of it someday, soon!

  2. It's actually quite a time saver. I mean you get to see the best of the best just by scrolling down 1 page. You don't have to hunt all over the internet. I love it. And I'm so glad you joined so I can steal :/ I mean pin your pics!
    hugs,
    Caroline

  6. So my big question is, who is the original poster of that pic? There is no info on the pic to say.
I am having a hard time finding my way around there. I signed up and they say they don't recognize my email addy, and I linked through their invitation!

  7. Dear All: I've already answered Kathleen in an email, but the "pinner" of the Halloween photo is: Originally pinned by Heidi Rawe onto Halloween / Fall / Thanksgiving. And the "Vodka and OJ" pinner was: Originally pinned by SusieBru onto anne taintor or 'ish.

  8. Hi Gloria! Thank you for sending me a friend suggestion on this ... I'm afraid that if I get started then I won't want to stop. Maybe when things slow down then I will give it a try. I'm glad that you are enjoying it so much though!

Hope you are having a great week. It is beginning to get cold here now, and they are saying that we might get a bit of snow in the mountains next week (which isn't very far away).

    God bless,

    Kathy M.

Thanks for popping in and I was so hungry, I ate my food and forgot to take a picture of it first.
    Be a sweetie,

  12. Yeah, love Pinterest, some don't! I know what you mean about it though, but I enjoy getting ideas for Christmas together, the thing is that it's costing me because I go and buy what I see, lol! Anyhow, I also know what you mean about your crochet stuff, you see, my grandmother said: hey hon, give me the thread, or cotton yarn (that I liked) and I'll crochett your girls a bedspread each, I said yes and never did caz I was too YOUNG and STUPID, I thought people lasted for ever just caz I was 25!! Now my own granddaughters would've had them in their colonial beds! SHU! Thanks for your lovely visit Gloria. Hugs,
    FABBY

  20. That's the thing! I know I'll be addict to it!!! LOL I already surf around there and I love seeing the pictures my readers pin from my blog. It's great to read what they think of the rooms. But I know I can't have an account just yet. I'm already not stopping around here...

Seriously, Gloria. I'm nesting too much this time around!! LOL I feel so anxious! It's like if it was my 1st pregnancy. Only 8 weeks away. :-)
But I'll have to start to slow down.

    Have a great day!

  22. Dearest Gloria,

Thanks for your visit and comment! The tip about adding my post to Susan's Between Naps on the Porch, is well meant but I don't want to go that road. She's attracting traffic only for her own purpose of scoring higher with her advertising. That's fine, but I will not support that. By the way, if you did read this post of mine: http://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2011/09/table-setting-versus-table-scape.html
you would get even a better idea.
    Love to you,

    Mariette

  23. Reply for Mariette: I respect your opinion, Mariette. But I wanted to say that I've been visiting Susan's blog long before I even started my own, and long before she took on advertising, and I really have to truly tell you that she's always done tablescapes and LOVES to do them, and has loved to have others' share theirs as well. I'm sorry you feel that way, and you are entitled to your opinion! Thanks for sharing it, and I will check out that post you name in your comment.
    Regards,
    Gloria
Note: I am replying personally via email to Mariette also, but I wanted to comment here too, to share my feelings as well.
