Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Monday, January 16, 2012 -- In Honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to all. This is just a short post today, because I do not think that I can add anything to a statement more profound than Dr. King had made in the one noted below. Times are tough these days... for many of us...
Therefore, even though Dr. King gave many inspiring quotes for us to cherish, this one below might inspire a lot of us to hold on in times of stress and bad economy these days.

Many thanks to Dr. King for his wisdom, which we are appreciating even today, so many years after his passing. Again, Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to all!
Best,
Gloria

NYC New York Color Makeup

Greetings and Happy New Year! I hope everyone is having a wonderful 2012 so far! I am doing this post because I signed up for Influenster last September. Have you ever heard of it? You join Influenster and obtain "badges" based upon your lifestyle. Here's a little synopsis from the Influenster webpage:
What is an Influenster?
Community of trendsetters invited to share their lifestyles and show their influence to qualify for personalized product shipments, special rewards and exclusive deals from the brands they love. Members love testing the latest products, giving insightful feedback, and spreading the word on their favorite finds!

I was sent their Holiday VoxBox in December and got a lot of nice products (Softsoap Barsoap, Mentos, Larabar and more). One of the products included was the NYC New York Color Liquid Lipgloss in Nude. It's really nice, I was pleased with it.

But this is not the first time I've used NYC Color products. I discovered them a long time ago (you can buy them in drugstores and supermarkets) and I have purchased quite a few of their items in the past... blush, eye pencil, lip pencil, etc. I love them because they are all great products and very, very reasonably priced.

Getting back to Influenster, here's some more info from their website:

Who Should Join? If you:
. Are always the first one to try new products, brands and services
. Love gabbing with your friends about your favorite discoveries
. Have a super-active social life both online and off

If you'd like to join or find out more about Influenster, go HERE.

If you'd like to make a NYC Color makeup purchase, just look for it in your local drugstore or supermarket! Trust me, you will be very pleased with your purchase. --You can also go here to check out their products first: http://www.newyorkcolor.com.

Happy Holidays! Only a few more days and Christmas will be here. Is everyone ready??
I wish I could that I were, but I'm still working at it. :)
But I figure that whatever I don't get done is ok... little baby Jesus was born in a lowly manger, so as long as I celebrate His birth with love, I don't think He will mind if everything isn't perfect around here!

I want to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday and I hope all of your Christmas wishes come true! See you after the holidays!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL !!!!!!

Mel's Cabin Designs!

Holiday Greetings! I wanted to do a little post to feature one of my blogging buddies, Mel, from Mel's Designs, aka: "cabinfever228.blogspot.com"
Mel was so kind to make me an adorable little fabric star, with my favorite color stripe -- red! I just received it today and here's a few photos below of my star at home that I nestled in some "holiday greens." :)

Mel is a great crafter and sells many of her items. She has showings at different events and has tons of items that she makes. I wish I could be so creative with sewing! I hope you enjoyed the photos and my thanks to Mel for my cute little star! If you get a moment, click on to visit her blog ~ Mel's Designs

"The Chunky Mermaid"

Hello all! I hope everyone is having a good day and enjoying getting ready for the holidays! In anticipation of gift giving, I thought I would put the spotlight on a fine little Etsy store: THE CHUNKY MERMAID. It's proprietor is my blogging buddy, Anne, who makes beautiful signs! Here's a little description of Anne's shop: "The Chunky Mermaid's handmade wooden signs are a delightful way to add a special touch to your home...a unique way of celebrating any special events...and don't forget, they even make wonderful gifts! Plus, they are all 100% handmade in the great state of Texas!"

Here's a beautiful sign that I purchased from Anne for my own kitchen. I love it!
And here's more examples of signs currently for sale in Anne's Etsy shop:

Here's a sign like mine, in green, that is for sale in Anne's shop:

CUSTOM SIGNS... Anne also does "custom" signs! How about a beautiful "name" sign for your daughter or granddaughter? Isn't the one below so pretty? She can also do a boy's name, of course, in the color of your choice. See more of Anne's custom signs below...

So head on over to THE CHUNKY MERMAID to check out Anne's signs! Please click on her logo below and you will be taken directly there!

Christmas Decorations Revisited!

Happy Sunday to all! I decided to join Chari's Happy to Design blog for her 127th "Sunday Favorites" party. One can post a PREVIOUS post they'd like to share! And since I am NOWHERE NEAR having anything ready for Christmas, I thought I'd share this xmas vignette from last year. Hope you enjoy. And thanks, Chari, for allowing me to join your Sunday Favorites Party!

Post from December 2010:
Happy Holidays! I thought I would take some photos of my kitchen Christmas decorations. Hope you like the photos -- they came out in different "hues" so I figured I'd include them as they came out. Some of them look prettier than others!

Oh, and the little red house was made for me as a gift from Caroline from the "Shop Cinderella Moments" blog. She also made the clothespins that you will see in the photos below. (Visit her shop on Etsy - "Cinderella Moments." She has beautiful things, especially her doll houses.)

Here's beautiful clothespins again made by Caroline @ Etsy/Cinderella Moments -- and adorable little mini mittens, which I purchased from another Etsy shop (Etsy/ArtbyAna). Aren't they the cutest things??

I hope you enjoyed my little kitchen decorations!

Happy Holidays!
