It's Snowing!

Yes, the snow started earlier today in Connecticut! The day after Christmas! It's actually not "too" bad out there, but I am very glad I don't have to drive anywhere. I trust all of the travellers got home safely after visiting relatives and friends for Christmas.

I hope to get outside tomorrow and take some photos. The photo above is one I found today from the Internet. Isn't it pretty? It's actually from Germany: snowflakes/snow crystals on a car. This was part of the photo's caption: "Snow crystals appear on the window of a car in Bayreuth, southern Germany..."

I hope everyone is staying warm and dry and recovering from their Christmas festivities!

Best,
Gloria

UPDATE: 6:00 pm -- I am watching the news and they are saying that in the NY and New England area, we will be getting 12-18 inches of snow, going on now through tomorrow until 6:00 PM -- 24 hours more! It will be "blizzard" conditions... Let's see how much we actually get!

  2. Hi Gloria!
Yes, lotsw of snow here too.
I went back and caught up on your posts. Love your decorations!
The spread you asked about is crab meat, onion, cream cheese horse radish, lemon juice , a little cream...all mixed together. Sprinkle bacon or nuts on the top and bake.
I put the recipe on my blog last year, but I will link it in my next post. Very easy, and very good!
    Stay safe and warm!

  4. I can remember those big snow storms. I grew up in the Northeast and it was so much fun, as a child, being snowed in. Nowadays, I am not so sure I'd enjoy it. There's too much to worry about.

  7. I don't envy your snow. We had our first white Christmas here in Texas last year. We also had more snow than I've ever seen. We had 2 or 3 feet in the backyard. No snow so far and no ice. Later this week we're getting into the 70s. That's my kind of winter! I hate the cold. Belize here I come! Maybe later. I had a beautiful Christmas and I hope you had one as well. For New Years it's a family party. I hope you have fun plans as well!
    XO,

  8. Hey, Li'l Sis. Hope you fare well with all that snow you're getting! We were fortunate just to have enough to call it a "white Christmas" here, with no problems on the roads. I hope your new year is a happy one, filled with joy and good fortune.

    Bye for now ...
    Bill

  10. Hi Gloria,
Thanks so much for visiting. Please come by often. I grew up in Connecticut -- Hartford -- and have lived in NYC for the last 35 years. Not sure how the time has flown by so quickly. Take good care and stay safe and cozy!
