A Cold Sunday...

Happy Sunday! It is so very cold here in my neck of the woods. We had more snow this week, plus rain over that, which turned the shovelled snow on our paths to ICE beneath our feet. Not fun. I haven't done a post all week, I have been feeling 'under the weather' with my winter allergies.
But, at the beginning of the week, I did manage to do a little online shopping. :)

I ordered these two silverplated mint julep cups that were on sale.

I also ordered two little metal birds online. This photo is so small, it's barely worth posting! I think I might paint them a nice bright color when I get them... Any suggestions on what color to paint them?

Well, I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday! Thanks for visiting and have a good week ahead.

Best,
Gloria

  1. Lovely cups Gloria! We've been quite cold -- but no snow this past week -- we did have an icy start to Tuesday -- that seems to be the day we're "marked" for unusual weather -- we're due a wintery mix again this coming Tuesday as well.

  8. Hi, Gloria... love your julep cups. I think I saw that same pair, but I can't remember where now. I love them!

And I love your cute birds. How about some nice bluish, tealish color? I agree with Pixie, they look to me to be the bluebirds of happiness. Or find a color in the room where you want to place them and pop that color onto them. They are going to be a cute accent!

    Sheila :-)f

  13. Thank you for breaking me out of my Bittman depression today, lol!!

I have crazy bad winter allergies, too! What's UP with that? I never had a problem until last year, and I thought (hoped) it was just a fluke.

I bought a julep cup at a yard sale...it's not as fancy as yours are but I love sticking a couple of stems of tulips or roses in it to make my nightstand all fancy. And can you paint the bird bright blue? Or a nice turquoise? (Would look great with silver julep cups!) So you'll have literal blue birds?

Feel better, and thanks again for the comment on my blog!

  17. It is getting a little wet this Sunday, but not as cold as your place.

Ooooh, the little birdies would be so cute in bright lemon yellow or pastel turquoise! But it really depends on the colors at your home though. I could see them in bright red and white too :)
