CATFISH Review

Greetings! I am finally here to give a review of the CATFISH documentary. Well, as I told a friend, if I hadn't known anything about it, I would have loved it. It is a fascinating story. But, because of all the stories and 'spoilers' I read on the internet, plus ABC's 20/20 show that I saw on this, I knew everything, so I was a little disappointed. But, please! If you have not heard anything about this documentary, and you are the least bit curious, DO rent it and watch it. It is quite a story. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. I am going to rent the whole DVD from Netflix... I think that gives a few interviews with the film-makers, that I did not get with renting it from Amazon, so I will enjoy that.

Well, if anyone sees CATFISH, please email me or leave me a comment and let me know what you thought!

Best,
Gloria

It's Here! CATFISH is Here!!

The documentary that I had been obsessed with last Fall is finally out on DVD. It came out a couple of days ago, and I only looked online now and saw that it is available to watch on one's PC for $3.99 from Amazon! So this is what I am going to do: I will watch it on my laptop, and I will see if I am still so engrossed with this documentary, and see it if it's worthy to purchase - i.e., if it's deserving to be viewed more than once, and added to a DVD collection. I will let you know if it is.

In the meantime, if you are interested in viewing it online yourself for $3.99 for a 24-hour period, you can go to the link and watch it. Click HERE
(You can also download it for $14.99.)

I will report back to you and let you know how it was!!

Best,

2011!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about you, but can you believe it is the year 2011? I still remember when it turned from 1999 to 2ooo - which, seriously, it seemed like WHAT, a few years ago? But, NO, it was a long time ago... Man, I guess I'm getting old!

I did want to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am 'borrowing' some nice photos from the Internet -- Times Square at New Year's Eve. Although I am a born-and-bred Brooklyn, New Yorker, I was only there ONCE at Times Square for New Year's Eve when I was about 20... It was a madhouse, but I will admit that it WAS very exciting to be here. I think it's the fact that one could say they were there to experience it, and that it was a unique experience!

So although I did NOT take these photos, I hope you enjoy them... and think of our beloved DICK CLARK and all the years at Times Square when he "rang in" the New Year with us on TV!

My best to everyone, and good health, happiness, blessings, and all good wishes to everyone, for 2011 --

Blizzard Bust! (and Christmas Day photos too!)

Greetings! I thought I'd post those pictures of the snow we had in my 'neck of the woods' earlier in the week... It started out as a BLIZZARD and fizzled out. What a bust! But I am not complaining!

So you will see below photos of what it looked like when it stared to snow on the 26th, then I only took a couple the next day after it was all over because, as you will see, we only had a couple of inches.

I also included the picture above - I had that "heart" ornament on the cabinet shown in an earlier post, but I added the ribbon. Doesn't it look nice now? I love ribbons and bows!

OK, here's the photos... OH! And a couple of pictures from Christmas Day at my cousin's...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I took this picture through the door because I thought the snow on the wreath looked pretty.
Here's looking outside, from my side door, photos taken as it was snowing...
And here's what it looked like the day after!
And here's just a couple of photos from Christmas Day at my cousin Judy's house. This is her son's girlfriend and their little son. Isn't he the cutest thing?!
This is us trying to fool my son into looking and ACKNOWLEDGING that the baby is behind him!
As you can see, he is trying to humor us with that look... (and Chris' girlfriend is trying to hide herself to not be shown! LOL!)
Guess my son isn't ready to have kids yet -- that looks like an "I'm just tolerating this" smile...
Hope you enjoyed the photos!
Gloria
Free Printable 2011 Calendar!
Greetings, all! I know I still owe some photos from our 'blizzard' from the other day but, in my part of New England, it wasn't much of a snow accumulation! Pretty boring. But I will get my photos together, the few I took, and will do a post tomorrow.
In the meantime, if you'd like a free printable calendar for the new year, a new blogger friend, Elle, from Switcheroom, has offered for you to visit her blog and feel free to print out a calendar! Click here to take advantage. It's a great calendar with great colors for each month.
Hope everyone is having a nice, relaxing after-Christmas week! Anyone get any good after-Christmas sale items? Let me know!
Best,
Gloria
It's Snowing!
Yes, the snow started earlier today in Connecticut! The day after Christmas! It's actually not "too" bad out there, but I am very glad I don't have to drive anywhere. I trust all of the travellers got home safely after visiting relatives and friends for Christmas.
I hope to get outside tomorrow and take some photos. The photo above is one I found today from the Internet. Isn't it pretty? It's actually from Germany: snowflakes/snow crystals on a car. This was part of the photo's caption: "Snow crystals appear on the window of a car in Bayreuth, southern Germany..."
I hope everyone is staying warm and dry and recovering from their Christmas festivities!
Best,
Gloria
UPDATE: 6:00 pm -- I am watching the news and they are saying that in the NY and New England area, we will be getting 12-18 inches of snow, going on now through tomorrow until 6:00 PM -- 24 hours more! It will be "blizzard" conditions... Let's see how much we actually get!
Christmas Decorations!
Happy Holidays! I thought I would take some photos of my kitchen Christmas decorations. I have to admit that these are the only decorations I have up in the house. I still have to put up my tree... I still have to get my son to go get it from the basement! :)
We do have our porch lights up (see photo at left), and my neighbor just made a beautiful wreath for me for my door (I will take a picture of it and post it this week) but, other than that, this is it! Hope you like the photos -- they came out in different "hues" so I figured I'd include them as they came out. Some of them look prettier than others!
Oh, and the little red house was made for me as a gift from Caroline. She also made the clothespins that you will see in the photos below. (Visit her shop on Etsy - "Cinderella Moments." She has beautiful things, especially her doll houses.)
Here's the beautiful clothespins made by Caroline @ Etsy/Cinderella Moments -- and adorable little mini mittens, which I purchased from another Etsy shop (Etsy/ArtbyAna). Aren't they the cutest things??
I hope you enjoyed my little kitchen decorations!
Happy Holidays!
